PLANNED MAINTENANCE

Brief/Scope of works:

The scope of works was to install a new kitchen and tea point to the 8th Floor of the building this included new walls, ceilings, floor finishes and bespoke joinery. To the 8th floor a new snug area was created incorporating new ceilings, walls and bespoke joinery.

To the lower ground floor two new meeting rooms were refurbished with an adjoining corridor. In the meeting rooms new sound attenuation ceilings and wall panels where build and bespoke joinery incorporated creating storage and a platform for the new Audio-Visual equipment.

Challenges:

The main challenge on the project was access, both in terms of the locations deep into the building and on the 8th floor.

Equally for the security clearance requirements of working within a government building. Works were undertaken both during and outside of normal works hours to accommodate the program and requirements of not disturbing the building occupiers especially during noisy phases of works.
